Here you will find a range of resources to help you to go deeper in prayer during LENT 2012.

Praying the LORD’s prayer together

We are inviting everyone to commit themselves to joining together in praying the Lord’s prayer at midday EVERY DAY. The whole idea of praying at 12.00pm (Midday) is that it allows God to interrupt our day.  Whether or not you already have a regular time of prayer disciplining yourself to pray in the centre of your day means your mind returns to God regardless of the pressures of busyness of daily life.

This, then, is how you should pray, Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven… Matthew 6v9-10 (NIV)

Reading for LENT

This Lent we are inviting people to read Bill Hybel’s classic book on prayer. It is available from Amazon or Eden Books.

A prayer of dedication

A prayer for us at the beginning of 2012

Lord; at the beginning of this
new year…

We offer you our worship:

Thank you for all that you’ve done
and for who you are…

We offer you our church:

Thank you for your faithfulness
and for your promise to be with us…

We offer you our lives:

Take our time, our talents
and all that we have
and use us in the year that’s ahead…

A prayer for others

This prayer is based on Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:14-21

Father, I pray for…please add their name

I pray that out of your glorious riches
you may strengthen them with power
through your Spirit in their inner being;

I pray that Jesus may dwell in their hearts as they trust in Him;

And I pray that they might be able to grasp
how wide and long and high and deep
your love really is…for them and for your people;

AMEN.
